Lee then shrieked loudly as her back tensed up and she began to claw madly at the bed.

Just then, the television screen flickered to the local news.

"Hello, I am Ariston Dominguez and this is Channel 5 News," the middle-aged Hispanic man announced as he was sitting in his desk. "Today we have some sad news to reprt. Local Salemite man Stefano DiMera has been found dead in the Grand Canyon. A local hiker traveling along the mountain ridge found his body and called the police. He has been transported to Salem for burial."

"Mr. DiMera is well known in town as the head of the DiMera clan. It is still unclear what will become of the DiMera fortune and mansion, as the will has not been unsealed yet. However, funeral arrangements are currently being made and will be conducted at the beginning of next week. He is survived by several children still remaining, including daughter Renee Dumonde DiMera, stepson Anthony DiMera, and adopted children Kirsten and Peter Blake. He also is survived by several grandchildren, including E.J. DiMera, Lucy DiMera Dumonde, Reagan Dumonde, and Trevor DiMera... We will be back with more on that story."

"I'm so confused!" Renee wailed. "I don't know why but I'm missing my father!" She then covered her hands and sniveled. "What is wrong with me?"

"It's okay to feel sad, Renee. He was your father after all," Lee tried to assure her daughter. "But you got to remember that he was a horrible person and you're better off without him."

"I know," Renee nodded as she wiped her eyes and nose. "But I still kind of miss him. He did treat me kind of nice when he found out that I was his daughter. He even threw a party for me the night I was murdered."

She then turned to Rod. "But it doesn't really matter. You are my new daddy now and I do love you." Renee then hugged him tenderly as she snuggled close to his body. "I want you to be my new daddy come morning."
