"You're asking us to have mercy on her on her behalf, Dr. Evans?" Chekhov retorted with an eyebrow.

"Yes, your liege," Marlena nodded.

"Very well then," Chekhov stood up and clapped his hands. Several minutes later, the guards arrived with a chained and shackled Samantha in tow. They cast her onto the ground and released her from her bounds. Samantha then breathed heavily and angrily as she scrambled up to Marlena.

"It's about time you got me out of there, Marlena!" she hissed.

"I think a thank you would very much be appreciated, Sam, since I bothered to ask the King and Queen to set you free," Marlena retorted.

"I suppose I could thank you," Samantha growled with an eye roll. "I want to get out of this dump. When are we leaving?"

"Tomorrow morning. We're staying here for one more night to have a feast in Adrienne's honor. She's expecting a child," Marlena replied.
